Serpentine leaf miner Liriomyza trifolii has become one of the devastating pests of tomato. At the Jawaharlal Nehru Krishi Vishwa Vidyalaya, Jabalpur during rabi 2017–18, efficacy of insecticides viz., fipronil 5SC @250 ml/ l, chlorantraniliprole 18.5SC @ 75 ml/ l, diafenthiuron 50WP @ 250 g/ l, spinosad 45SC @75 ml/ l, imidacloprid 70WG @125 g/ l and botanicals (NSKE 4% @10 kg/ ha and azadirachtin 0.3% @ 1000 ml/ ha) were evaluated against L. trifolii. When the damage was 47.2% in untreated control, diafenthiuron 50WP reduced it to 40.6%, and along with this, spinosad 45SC was the most effective with 58.76 and 54.38% reduction in damage, respectively.
