This manuscript deals with the redescription of a mosquito species Ochlerotatus alternans (Westwood, 1835) collected from Berhampur University campus, district Ganjam, Odisha, India. The present finding is a new record of this mosquito from India. Although this species is not considered to be of medical importance due to its low population size, it can carry pathogens like viruses and act as a potential vector.
