Abstract

Against scale insect Parlatoria blanchardii (Targ.) on date palm, when insecticides and botanicals were evaluated it was observed that profenophos (0.6 ml/ l) proved to be most effective followed by acetamiprid (0.3 g/ l) and imidacloprid (0.3 ml/ l). Thiamethoxam, dimethoate, acephate and lambda cyhalothrin were moderately effective, while azadirachtin and thiacloprid were the least effective. The maximum fruit yield (123.75 q/ ha) was observed with imidacloprid giving maximum profit and benefit cost ratio of 8.47.
