Abstract

Tribe Pogonini of the carabid subfamily Trechinae is represented by a single genus PogonusDejean, 1821 with a single species Pogonus biroiCsiki, 1907 in the Oriental region. A new species, Pogonus malabrensis sp.nov., is described from the north Malabar region in south India with a key to the Oriental species of the genus.
