Abstract

The yellow stem borer (YSB), Scirpophaga incertulas (Walker) is a major pest of rice and this study evaluated efficacy of few novel insecticides during Kharif 2023 at the College of Agriculture, V C Farm, Mandya. Among all the treatments, flubendiamide 39.35SC emerged as the most effective, followed by chlorantraniliprole 18.5SC and fipronil 5SC with the least deadheart and white ears. Maximum grain (61.02 q/ ha) and biomass (62.48 q/ ha) yield was recorded in flubendiamide followed by chlorantraniliprole and fipronil, respectively. Flubendiamide 39.35SC demonstrated the highest benefit-cost ratio (3.58).
