The present study reported a total of 104 nymphalid butterfly species from the Miao Wildlife Range of Namdapha National Park, Arunachal Pradesh. The subfamily Limentidinae was found to be dominant (n = 28), followed by Satyrinae (n = 27), Nymphalinae (n = 11), Danainae (n = 10), Heliconiinae (n = 08), Charaxinae (n = 08), Apaturinae (n = 05), Pseudergolini (n = 03) and the least dominant were Biblidinae and Libytheinae (n = 02 each). Maximum diversity was observed with Limentidinae (H = 3.15) and the least with Libytheinae (H = 0.52). Important sightings include Lethe europa (F), Discophora sondaica Boisduval under the subfamily Satyrinae and Euthalia telchinia (Ménétriés) under subfamily Limentidinae, which is legally protected under the schedule I of Wild Life (Protection) Act, 1972 in India.
