In the present study, the baseline toxicity of insecticides was studied against third instar grubs of Anomala lineatopennis (Blanchard) (Scarabaeidae: Coleoptera) by topical application method under laboratory conditions using acetone as solvent. Results revealed chlorantraniliprole to be most toxic with LD50 value of 0.39 μg/ grub, followed by clothianidin, bifenthrin, thiamethoxam, imidacloprid, chlorpyriphos and carbofuran. Thus, chlorantraniliprole and clothianidin can be promising in the management of A. lineatopennis
