The gomphid genus Cyclogomphus Selys, 1854 is restricted to peninsular India and Sri Lanka. Based on the morphological and molecular studies of specimens collected from Madurai, Tamil Nadu, we report the range extension of Cyclogomphus gynostylus Fraser, 1926 to southern India which was previously known to be endemic to Sri Lanka.
