Rice weevil Sitophilus oryzae (L), is a major pest of rice and other crops. usually managed using chemical pesticides. The new creation of nanotechnology is an alternative and efficient pest control source. This study aimed to determine the efficacy of Silver Nanoparticles of Myrtus communis towards fecundity and oviposition. AgNPs were synthesised in an environmentally friendly manner, and their effect on egg laying rates was evaluated. The transmission electron microscopy confirmed the spherical shape of the particles. The results showed that the concentrations had affected adults, which affects the rate of egg productivity. The lowest rate of egg production when the mated female was mated with a male treatment was 17.4, and the lowest ratio of hatching eggs was 40 % at 20 μg/ ml. This study suggests that AgNPs can be used as a natural insecticide in the management of stored grain pests, contributing to reducing reliance on chemical pesticides.
