Abstract

The non-biting midge genus Neozavrelia Goetghebuer (1941) is recorded for the first time from India. The known species Neozavrelia lindbergi Reiss is redescribed and illustrated. To date, 36 species are recorded from the world, with only six reported from the Oriental region. A checklist, a world key, and a tentative phylogenetic relationship of all species of the genus Neozavrelia Goetghebuer are also given based on the known males. DNA barcoding of N. lindbergi Reiss is also provided.
