Abstract

The results showed that the training of jumantik (larvae monitor) cadres had a significant effect on increasing knowledge, attitude and actions in dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) prevention. This increase was followed by a significant decrease in the presence of Aedes aegypti larvae in Antang and Bitowa villages, with a decrease in house index (HI) from 35.7 to 7.1% and container index (CI) from 12.0 to 6.0%. Therefore, training jumantik cadres can be considered an effective strategy in dengue prevention. Communities need to continue to make preventive efforts through 3M mosquito nest eradication (drain, cover, recycle) to achieve the goal of DHF elimination.
