Abstract

The present study was carried out to evaluate the variations in the secondary metabolites during different developmental stages and seasons in two important medicinal plants, viz. Corbichonia decumbens and Withania coagulans from the Indian Thar desert. In C. decumbens, maximum amount of total alkaloids were observed during fruiting, whereas, total phenols in vegetative stage. In W. coagulans, rainy and summer seasons were found to be suitable for maximum accumulation of total alkaloids and phenols, respectively.
