Orobanche crenata infestation in carrot fields has been reported to increase during recent years causing substantial yield losses in Morocco. The regions of Rharb, Souss and Tadla were not infested while the Chaouia and Doukkala regions were infested with O. crenata at differential degree of incidence severity. Higher infestation rate was observed at the Chaouia region. In fact, out of 42 fields studied in this region, 81% of the fields were infested and the number of plants of the O. crenata per m2 was more than 110 in several cases and the attack severity reached 5 plants of O. crenata per carrot root. Only 19 per cent of the fields were free from the parasitic plants.
