Abstract

The aim of this study was to determine the condition of the aquatic environment, morphometric and meristic of mudskippers from the coast al waters of Ambon Island. The environmental conditions were measured using the in-situ method , while the morphometric and meristic characters of mudskippers were quantitatively measured . The results of this study indicated some variations in the morphometric and meristic measurements of the three species of mudskippers ( Periophthalmus argentilineatus P. kalolo , and P. minutus ). In addition, the temperature, salinity, pH, and substrate of the waters are very suitable for mudskipper life.
