Orthoptera are considered pests of agricultural production and pastoral. Dociostaurus maroccanus is a devastating species, where their distributions extend all around the semi-arid Mediterranean littoral. The phytoprotection method is the goal of this study which is based on essential oils of aromatic plants, taking as an example the Anacardiaceae family. The aim of the present study focuses on the molecular docking approach to inhibition of the enzyme α-amylase which is a digestive enzyme of D. maroccanus using phenolics compounds derived from essentials oil of aromatic plants: Elemol, Myrcène, Spathulenol, Terpinen-4-ol, Bornyl acetate. Elemol give the best docking score, its interactions with α-amylase has the lowest energy score compared to the other complexes. Elemol forms strongs one H-donnor interaction and one H-acceptor with residues of actives site of α-amylase. This study revealed for the first time that Elemol from Anacardiacea family is a functional inhibitor of α-amylase activities and it can been used as good bio-insecticide against D. maroccanus for the protection of environment and the human health.
