Abstract

The current research undertook an investigation of role of ethical leadership on the employee job satisfaction among the medium and small scale industries in India. The relations between these two constructs have been well researched and documented in relation to the bigger organizations. The research focused on the ethical leadership among the MSME sector in India. Through a questionnaire survey the researchers wanted to understand the employee perception of their leadership and the resulting job satisfaction especially from the Organizational Citizenship Behavior, Organization Commitment and Perception of Fairness. The data was collected from 210 employees from about 16 different companies having diversified portfolios. A confirmatory factor analysis was conducted to establish the positive relationship between the ethical behaviors of the leader on the employee Job satisfaction. It was found that ethical leadership positively impacts the employee job satisfaction.
