Abstract

Since the proliferation of smartphones for nearly a decade now, it has become an integral part of our lives. There are a number of benefits of smartphones ranging from instant connectivity across the globe, performing online financial transactions, to being up to date on happenings around the world. However, as with any technological innovation there are also a number of harmful effects of smartphones. This paper aims to study the addiction of smart phones, particularly among youngsters which is a matter of great concern to present and future generations. 160 data were collected from smartphone users. Percentage analysis, ranking analysis and chi-square test are performed. The study conclude that the Smartphone addiction will have a detrimental effect to the physical and psychological well-being of an individual.
