The study was carried out to examine the effects of Acorus calamus and Parthenium hysterophorus plants chemical constitute on dimension stability of Pinus roxburghii wood. Results of the study clearly shows the positive effects on the dimension stability of wood. However, A. calamus found more efficient as compare to the P. hysterophorus, due to the higher content of oil. In case of solvents used for extraction, petroleum ether found more effective compare to the methanol extract. Present investigation helpful for the further investigation to develop natural chemicals for wood modification which is free from the hazardous effect on environment health as well as human health.
