Abstract

To determine the principal component (PC) for ten quantitative attributes, the present experiment used 45 genotypes of groundnut during kharif season 2019 at S.K.N College of Agriculture, Jobner. To eliminate the diversity between the groundnut genotypes, ten characteristics was used in PCs. Out of ten, only six principal components (PC1 to PC6) exhibited more than 0.5 eigen value and showed 99.44% total variability among the characters. These six PCs were given due importance for further explanation. The best genotypes were those that were found on the extreme positive side of both axes, namely genotypes RG 578 (2.74), RG 575-1 (2.38), RG 642-1 (1.70), RG 623 (1.29) along PCAI axis and genotypes RG 639 (2.79), RG 633-1 (2.69), RG 632 (1.75), and RG 625 (1.68) along PCAII axis. These genotypes will may be used for advance hybridization programme.
