An iterative matching technique suitable for the CAD of a microwave distributed amplifier is presented. This technique is particularly useful in cases where the parasitic components of the amplifier’s active devices may lead to complex characteristic impedances for the amplifier’s input and output lines. Based on this technique a 4-stage distributed amplifier is designed, implemented and tested over the frequency range 0.5-4.5 GHz.
