Abstract

Vanets is one of the most popular techniques evolving under the domain of Wireless networks which particularly operate on vehicle. Minimum headway distance is the value of the minimum distance to be maintained between the vehicles. Many studies had been conducted in to study the effect of headway distance in vehicular network. In this paper however a new methodology is proposed which focuses on optimizing this headway distance. We have proposed a new approach called artificial bee colony algorithm which evaluates dynamic communication based headway distance. Also the effects of congested traffic conditions as well as abnormal environmental conditions on the vehicular adhoc network have also been evaluated with the help of proposed algorithm.
