Abstract

Technologies have facilitated in improving society awareness. The systems and use of technology should also focus on increased developmental research in the medical sciences, including blood management systems. Some patients fail to receive blood donation due to the management process. The problems have been analysed and the aim was focused on improving the efficiency and assuring the privacy of the information. A method for handling blood management was proposed using notification methods in which the requests will be handled efficiently. Interviews were conducted and questionnaires were distributed during the study. The system was tested and the success of the system implementation illustrates that the system is valuable to the practitioners, non-professional as well as researchers. Health practitioners can retrieve information from the system effectively. The availability of blood data does not increase the availability of information. Only authorized users can view the information and the data are stored as encrypted in the database. The current process has been improved, which help the community in general. It has proved the efficiency in the blood management system.
