Abstract

The single-phase induction motor widely used in agriculture pump industry. An agricultural Consumers were mainly affected due to tail end voltage regulation problem in an induction motor of centrifugal pump. Hence, they were not able to operate their irrigation pump & harvesting equipment. To overcome this problem, new coil design has been proposed in single phase induction motor. In the new design, stator coil turns and pitch have been modified and able to operate in single phase supply between 120–240 V and two phase supply between 260 V-415 V. Modified hardware design has been tested as per regulation act IS 9079: 2002.
