Abstract

In India which has the world's second largest population agriculture plays a crucial role. Majority of Indian crops are depended on the monsoon. With the decrease in rainfall, farmers have to use other alternate means offreshwaterforthecrops. Thisincreaseindemand and unsupervised usage of fresh water has led to water shortage. To address this issue an efficient water management and prediction techniques need to be implemented using ever growing technologies like (IoT), which has evolved in recent years as a cost-effective and convenient alternativeto traditionalcomputingtechniques. The need to design reliable assessment and adaptation mechanisms needs to be designed System that is able to measure and analyze the water usage and predict an efficient usage pattern to reduce the wastage and avoid subsequent crop loss. This papersurveys on techniquesand areas need to be considered for developing such a system.
