The study incorporates size-class differences among owner and tenant cultivators to understand their implication on resource use efficiency using the non-parametric DEA technique. The empirical exercise is based on the farm management survey data pertaining to Punjab. The study reveals that both the owner and tenant cultivators are able to capture the fruits of new technology that has occurred in a period of ten years. However, the benefits are mostly captured by the medium and semi medium size farms. The finding also supports with the basic neoclassical logic of inherent inefficiency of tenant farm as propounded by Marshall (1920).
