With the increasing commercialization of agriculture, the extent of loss due to adverse eventualities is rising. The question is how to protect farmers by minimizing such losses. A study was an attempt, conducted in Pune district of Maharashtra to assess the extent of marketing knowledge of respondents and to identify the problems faced by them under Crop Insurance Scheme in the study area. In Pune District only 13per cent farmer are benefited by crop Insurance scheme and rest 87% were not benefited by any crop insurance scheme. So, farmers are to be promoted more about the crop insurance scheme so that it would facilitate in increasing their income.
