The present study was undertaken in Jalandhar district of Punjab. Total sample of 75 different sized green chilli growers from five villages were selected. The results of the study indicated that the total variable cost incurred on growing green chilli was150353 per ha. The returns over total variable were466115 per ha and were highest in large vegetable growers. The study identified three marketing channels viz; Channel-I: Producer-wholesaler-retailer-consumer, Channel-II: Producer-retailer-consumer and Channel-III: Producer-consumer. The net price received by the producer was 61.96, 72.77 and 98.59 per cent in marketing Channel-I, II, and III respectively in Jalandhar market during 2016. The producer's share in consumer's rupee, in marketing Channel-III was highest because of direct sale to consumer. Hence, marketing Channel-III has been found to be most efficient because the farmers were avoiding the marketing expenses due to absence of intermediaries
