The paper develops reliability evaluation of a distribution system. The reliability indices of three types of distribution substations (33/11kV) are evaluated using minimal cut-set technique. Then the reliability indices of a primary distribution system are evaluated using failure effect mode analysis and it is added to the previous effect. The primary and the secondary reliability indices of a radial feeder with a combination of four different types of distribution substation configurations are determined. Comparisons of reliability indices are made for different configurations.
