The study was carried out by the KVK during 2007–08 to 2010–11 at farmer's field of Sehore district under Vindhyan plateau agro climatic zone of Madhya Pradesh. Maximum average yield, net return, minimum wilt incidence and pod borer damage was obtained 14.9 q/ha, Rs 15963/ha and 31.6 to 40.0 per cent respectively under demonstrated technology as compared to farmers practices 11.2 q/ha and ` 10533.8/ha. The maximum average cost benefit ratio was obtained 1: 2.2 under improved technology as compared to farmers ’technology 1: 1.9. Favorable cost benefit ratio is self explanatory of economic viability of the demonstration and convinced the farmers for adoption of imparted interventions. The technology suitable for enhancing the productivity of Chick pea crop and calls for conducting of such demonstrations under the transfer of technology by KVKs or other TOT centers.
