The study was conducted in Akbarpur block of Kanpur Dehat district selected purposively. A total number of 100 respondents of women SHG were selected purposively which were selected from 20 Villages randomly. The structured schedule was developed keeping in view the objectives and variables under study. The respondents were contacted personally for data collection. The analysis of data was done by using the percentage, mean, standard deviation, and correlation coefficient for drawing the inferences. The data revealed that the out of 8 personal constraints as perceived by women SHG women viz., ‘lack of pertinent knowledge about new innovation ’was ranked I followed by lack of awareness due to dependency on male ‘ranked II, out of 7 social constraints faced by women SHG members the majority of the women SHG members were reported the constraints viz., ‘ prevailed negative social attitude about women role outside the home in rural society ’ranked I followed by ‘due to “parda system” women are restricted within home boundaries ’ranked II, out of 4 economic constraints in were reported ‘women have financial dependency on male ’ranked I, followed by ‘unavailability of loan facility ’ranked II, out of 5 constraints in women SHG group formation faced by the women SHG members were reported ‘illiteracy among women ’ranked I, followed by ‘lack of cooperation among women ’ranked II, out of 2 constraints in functioning of women SHG were reported ‘lack of leadership among members ’ranked I, followed by ‘lack of working ability of members ’ranked II, out of 4 technological constraints maximum respondent were reported ‘lack of training programmes related to women SHG ’ranked I, followed by ‘lack of technical knowledge of preparing of women SHG of rural women ‘ranked II, out of 3 constraints of Government officials were reported ‘Government not come with a special policy to create a separate cell for solving problems of women SHG ’ranked I, followed by ‘Government not encourage and support NGOs to attempt and create favorable policy environment for women ’ranked II and out of 3 constraints in bank transaction were reported ‘lack of information about banking procedures ’ranked I, followed by ‘rules and regulation which the members cannot fulfill ’ranked II.
