Abstract

The study was conducted in Siwan district of Bihar state. Three blocks i.e. Bhagwanpur Hat, Raghunathpur and Basantpur was selected. From each block three villages and from each village 20 farmers were randomly selected for this study, thus the total number of respondents was 180. The study indicated that majority of farmers were medium, high and low respectively about knowledge level regarding pigeon pea technology. The overall knowledge gap related to pigeon pea cultivation practices were found 34.75 per cent. The overall all adoption gaps related to pigeon pea cultivation practices were found 34.37 per cent. The socio-economic status of the respondents had a significant association with their extent of knowledge about pigeon pea technologies. There are many constraints responsible for low production of pigeon pea.
