Abstract

Nutrition status of adolescents is determined by the dietary habits of adolescents of that particular location. In this environment, a study had been undertaken with the purpose of understanding the influence of food habits in families by their parents” profession. In this study, 400 adolescent boys and girls of 13 to 15 years and 16 to 18 years of age were selected randomly from Gwalior district. Statistical analysis indicated that fast food habit was prominent; whose mothers were illiterate. Fast food found habit was profoundly where mothers were involved shop profession. Interestingly, there is highly significant difference between nutritional and fast food habits in both adolescent boys and girls at the age of 13-15 and 16-18 years. It showed that profession of father's significantly influenced on the adolescent boys and girls” food habits. Skilled and professional mother's adolescents tend to have nutritional diet in their routine.
