Two separate knowledge test is developed to measure knowledge level of dairy and goat farmers” respectively. In all 60 and 53 items for dairy and goat production system were constructed initially on the basis of thinking rather than memorisation and to differentiate well informed farmers” from poorly informed one. The scores from sample respondents were subjected to item analysis, comprising of item difficulty index and discrimination index. In the final selection scale consisted of 16 and 14 items with difficulty index ranging from 30-80 and discrimination index ranging from 0.30-0.55. The reliability of the knowledge test developed was tested by split half and test-retest method. The coefficient of correlation values in split half & test retest methods were 0.86 & 0.82 for dairy and 0.76 & 0.78 for goat production system respectively which were found to be significant at 1 per cent level. It was found that knowledge test was highly stable and dependable for measurement.
