Abstract

Over the years, with enhanced demand for improved agricultural and allied technologies, the number of trainings organized by Krishi Vigyan Kendras had grew substantially. Current study was undertaken in Indian state Maharashtra with an objective to determine the impact of dairy farming training on entrepreneurial behaviour of participated dairy animal owners by using propensity score matching method. The study revealed that majority of the trained and un-trained dairy animal owners had medium level of entrepreneurial behaviour. Mann Whitney U test implies that trained dairy animal owners had higher entrepreneurial behaviour in dairy farming compared to untrained dairy animal owners. Correlation and multiple regression co-efficient had also underlined “training participation” as an important variable contributing towards entrepreneurial competencies of respondents. Hence, it is suggested that Krishi Vigyan Kendras needs to plan longer duration training ensuring larger and wider participation for the socio-economic welfare of bulk of rural mass.
