Abstract

The comparative study was conducted in Karnal district of Haryana to study the existing different healthcare practices followed by the dairy farmers. Randomly selected 120 dairy farmers from different villages were interviewed through pretested structured interview schedule. Healthcare practices like Vaccination schedule, Deworming practices as well as Calf mortality and Animal Morbidity were considered in this investigation. Majority of dairy farmers were aware about deworming and vaccination schedule of their animals. One-time endo-parasite/ ecto-parasite controlling was preferred by most of the dairy farmers. The Calf mortality was found more in indigenous cattle followed by cross-bred cattle in last three years. Most prevalent causes of animal morbidity were endo-parasite followed by ecto-parasite with high margin difference in between adopted and non-adopted villages.
