Attitude and utilization pattern of information and communication technology of the student of SVPUA&T Meerut District of Uttar Pradesh

Abstract

A study on Utilization Pattern and Attitude of Information and Communication Technology among the students was undertaken in the year 2018-2019 with sample size of 90 students of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel university of Agriculture and Technology Meerut. The data was collected on Utilization Pattern, attitude about selected ICT tools with the help of prestructured Interview schedule. The study reveals that, majority of the respondents belong to Female (61.11%) category and (46.67%) of them belonged to OBC category.(72.22 %) of the respondents belonged to urban area, Majority of the parents of respondents i.e. (45.56) father had graduation level of education, while (52.22) percent of respondents mothers were also educated up to graduation level of education. Thus, the data indicated that the majority of students” respondents belonged to the educated family. Majority of the respondents” occupational background is (64.45%) who belong to Service Class families. Majority of the respondents (38.89%) were having their family annual income in the range of ₹5,00,000 – 10,00,000. 100.00 per cent of respondents use of ICT tools was mobile (94.44%). Majority of respondents (96.66%) used internet for education. (95.58%) used Google for searching information. Study regarding retrieval of information gained through Internet shows that majority of the respondents (96.66%) keep the information retained memory. The finding shows that the majority (92.75%) of the students watched television to See Current Affairs, followed by Education91.30%). The result reveal that majority of the students (98.56%) discuss it with friends, information gained from Internet. 69.23% listened radio for entertainment. (92.30%) utilize information by discussion. Majority (97.72%)of students use Mobile phone to send and receive messages. (80%) of the respondents use Mobile phone daily. (46.16%) students use 30 Minutes-1 hr a day. Majority of the respondents are having opinion that Regarding the fact ICT improves reading and learning (77.77%) students agree.
