The present study was undertaken with the purpose to understand the farmers” awareness about various modern farm business management practices being adopted in vegetable farming and to seek the farmers” suggestions for improvising the implementation of modern farm practices. For the present investigation, a sample size of about 140 farmers of Solan district of Himachal Pradesh was taken. A self-structured questionnaire was prepared for the present study. The data was collected using a structured schedule. It was specifically recorded from the results that there has been a moderate awareness (55.70 percent) among the vegetable growers for modern farm business management practices generally. Farm planning and farm business appraisal were the foremost considered elements of farm business management as perceived by the farmers”. Tomato crop has been highly cultivated in the study area. It is suggested that the awareness level could further be enhanced through awareness campaigns, farmer training and introduction of farm business management practices manuals. Thus, the concerned study emerges as for bringing out a comprehensive change in doubling farmers” income.
