Abstract

Knowledge is generally an intimate acquaintance of an individual with facts, it is a body of understood information possessed by an individual or by a culture. To measure the knowledge level of farmers practicing vermiculture technology in their agriculture farm, a knowledge test was developed. On the basis of thinking and differentiation of well-informed farmers” than poorly informed one, 72 items comprehensively covering each aspect of vermiculture technology at farmers” field were constructed. The obtained scores from each items were used for item analysis comprising item difficulty index and discrimination index. Total 30 items were selected in final scale having difficulty index ranging 30-80 and discrimination index ranging 0.30-0.55. Reliability of knowledge test was measured by split half and test-retest method. The coefficient of correlation value in split half and test-retest were 0.79 and 0.81, respectively at 1 per cent level of significance. Developed knowledge test was found to be high stable and dependable measurement.
