Abstract

The paper was based on a study conducted on the issue of participation in fisheries activities by women SHGs members in Jashpur district of Chhattisgarh, India. The sample size consisted of 80 women SHG members representing 13 bank linked fishery based women SHGs. Ranking of fisheries activity wise participation of respondents relatively ranks, both management of common hazards as part of post stocking management activity as well as netting activity for fish capturing, jointly assumed the highest rank. With respect to participation in fisheries activities, 27.50 per cent of the respondents were of high level of participation, and around 56.25 per cent were of medium level of participation.
