The present study was conducted for finding out the constraints perceived by farmers in Malwa region of Punjab. One sixty respondents from two districts namely Sri Muktsar Sahib and Fazilka were selected using multistage random sampling design. Garrett Ranking technique was used for the purpose of ranking the various constraints. Constraints perceived by the respondents were categorized into five categories i.e. credit, marketing, technical know-how, infrastructural and miscellaneous. Among them, Marketing constraints were most faced by respondents followed by technical know-how, miscellaneous, infrastructural and credit related constraints. Middleman's malpractices was foremost marketing related constraint. Among credit constraints, it was high capital investment for starting new enterprise. Underdeveloped market's infrastructure was most faced among infrastructural constraints. In technical know-how, lack of availability of proper guidance and training for starting any new enterprise was most faced by the respondents and increasing input costs in agriculture / livestock farming was foremost miscellaneous constraint.
