Awareness of under graduate students of TNAU towards e-learning – An empirical study

Abstract

This study was conducted to assess the awareness of students towards e–Learning, to discover the influencing factors so as to have relevant results for the future initiatives of educational institutions that plan to adopt an e-Learning system. Asample of 60 first year students of AC&RI, TNAU, Coimbatore was selected by following proportionate stratified random sampling method. The well structured interview schedule was used to collect data. It was found that majority of UG students were having medium level of awareness towards e-Learning and the variable purpose of internet usage deserve consideration in the implementation of e- Learning approach in educational technology in specific and the variables namely gender, mother's education, mother's occupation, mistakes made while using computer, experience in computer usage and father's education in general.
