The Rajasthan Agricultural Competitiveness Project (RACP) was initiated by the Government of Rajasthan (GoR) in April, 2013 in collaboration with the World Bank with the major objective of enhancing water use efficiency and the efficient utilization of farm resources in agriculture by providing technical and financial support to the farming community. The attitude of farmers has a critical role in the implementation of any innovation or new technology. Attitude is a developed feeling or emotion about some psychological object which helps an individual to give a verdict on that psychological object. Keeping this in view, the present study was thought to be taken to study the attitude of farmers towards Rajasthan Agricultural Competitiveness Project (RACP). The present study was conducted in two clusters namely-Phoolasar and Kheruwala from Bikaner and Jaisalmer districts. For comparison between beneficiary and non-beneficiary farmers, a total of 320 respondents were drawn (160 beneficiary and 160 non-beneficiary) and to measure the attitude of farmers towards the RACP, the Likert's method of Summated Rating Scale was constructed and used. The data were tabulated and analyzed. The results showed that majority (86.25%) of beneficiary had medium to high level of attitude towards RACP, whereas, majority (85.63%) of non-beneficiary had medium to low level of attitude towards RACP. It may be concluded that in the case of beneficiary respondents most of them showed favourable attitude towards the statement “RACP has enhanced irrigation facilities in the project area” (4.15 MS) and perceived least favourable attitude towards “There is a little work done and more of its propaganda made by the irrigation department under this project” (2.96 MS). In the case of non-beneficiary respondents the most favourable attitude towards ‘There is no change in water distribution management due to RACP ’(3.18 MS) and perceived least favourable attitude towards “Agriculture implements provided under the project are not useful” (2.00 MS).
