Abstract

Biofortified crop and varieties are now proved to be a very effective means to combat malnutrition problem. However, there is a need to have prioritized strategies for promoting biofortified crops/foods for better nutrition and health. Hence, this research study has been carried out to identify best strategies for promotion. Several strategies were highlighted and analyzed for their relevancy scores and ranks by using data collected by 200 extensionists and 3200 farmers. ‘Seed production for ensuring seed availability, seed villages, participatory seed production’ and ‘involvement of NGOs, private food companies especially in area of health and nutri-products’ are the best strategies.
