Abstract

In order to replicate the successful models of farmer producer organisations, we need to delve deep for delineating the various critical factors contributing to the success and sustainability of such farmer organisations. The present research study was conducted in Udaipur Agro Producer Company Limited (UAPCL) in Udaipur district of Rajasthan. The data were collected from 100 members and twenty officials of the organisation. The study revealed that the critical success factors in the organisation were the adoption of improved technologies and modern infrastructure, well-developed market linkage, product certification and improved access to institutional credit facilities. The study also highlighted that the numbers of members, villages covered, outlets, activities undertaken by the organisation were continuously increasing in the organization, thus giving us a sense of long-term organizational sustainability. The days of employment generated and annual turnover was also observed rising over the years.
