Abstract

The present study regarding the information acquisition behaviour of rice growers under seed village programme was carried out in five purposively selected Sub-Divisions of Baramulla district, having Seed Village Programme under rice crop. Data was personally collected by researcher through well structured interview schedule. The majority of the rice growers from all the five sub-divisions were a medium level of information acquisition behaviour and the majority of the medium level of information acquisition behaviour of the rice growers were found in sub-division Tangmarg (75%), followed by sub-division Sopore (70.38%), followed by sub-division Baramulla (69.87%) and followed by sub-division Pattan (68.58%) and least were found in sub-division Rohamma (65%). However, when analyzing at the rice growers overall information acquisition behaviour across all five Sub-Divisions, it was found that (69.68%) of respondents had a medium level of information acquisition behaviour.
