Abstract

The National Educational Policy (NEP), 2020 launched by the Government of India has given special mention for the revival of agricultural education in the country. In the past, agricultural education system has transformed for the better and contributed significantly in achieving remarkable growth of agricultural sector. However, the landscape of agriculture in India is changing rapidly. To catalyse growth of this important sector that forms livelihood of over half of the population by harnessing potential demographic dividends, agricultural education system must be revamped. This study examines the problems of the present agriculture education system by analyzing the perspectives of all key stake holders. Also, the study has attempted to identify and prioritize the suggestions of the stakeholders to improve the current agriculture education system to meet the emerging challenges.
