Agriculture sector has great share of working women hands who tirelessly work day night to achieve the goal of food security. However, the efforts of the women population working in this sector is hindered and often given less priority. This study assessed the participation of women in wheat cultivation activities. Random Sampling Technique was used to choose 120 women who were residents of rural area of Varanasi district. Results indicated the level of knowledge was higher regarding information related to sowing practices spacing and recommended varieties but rural women were lagging behind regarding knowledge about the plant diseases and their control measures. In case of participation in wheat cultivation, was highest in cleaning and negligible participation in ploughing.
