Abstract

The research was carried out in the Bettiah block of Bihar's West Champaran district to learn about the obstacles that trainees and non-trainees of the KVK training programme face in adopting maize production practises. The data from 120 randomly chosen respondents showed that in the trainee category, 61.25 per cent of respondents had a medium level of adoption, while in the non-trainee category, 52.5 per cent of trainees had a low level of adoption. In the trainee category, the main constraints faced by the respondents were pest and disease incidents, while in the non-trainee category, the main problem was a lack of scientific knowledge of maize cultivation, as well as poor educational opportunities. The respondents made some helpful recommendations, such as taking appropriate control measurements for pest and disease control.
