Abstract

This research study has been conducted in order to find out consumption pattern of meat and meat products with special reference to Kadaknath in Malwa region of Madhya Pradesh. A total of 408 respondents have been interviewed and data were collected through pre structured interview schedule and analyzed. The results revealed that about 23.53 per cent of the respondents preferred Chicken over others meat varieties and among meat products Tandoori chicken was most preferred by consumers (57.60%). About 38.48 per cent respondents are still unaware about the kadaknath meat and amongst those who aware about kadaknath meat, 50.6 per cent respondents have idea about the benefit of kadaknath meat. Results further revealed that more than 74 per cent respondents consumed Kadaknath meat occasionally followed by 24.26 per cent respondents up to three times in a month.
