Marginal and small farmers face challenges such as small land holding, poor yield due to reliance on natural phenomenon such as hailstorm, heavy rainfall and lack of knowledge of scientific methods of agriculture. Henceforth, farmers do not get the maximum productivity from the crops and face difficult to get year round production, which results in low profitability. The study was conducted to find out Problems faced by farmers while practicing Off-season vegetable cultivation in low cost polyhouse in Assam. In order to carry out the study, 4 districts of Assam were selected purposively where maximum beneficiaries of RKVY existed. A total 80 respondents consists the samples of the study. Data collection was made by administering a structured schedule.Weighted Mean Score (WMS) was used as the statistical tool to find out the intensity of each problem. Problems encountered are lack of capital, not getting required returns, lack of adequate marketing facilities, etc.
